Frequently asked questions
What exactly counts as a "development task"?
New features, bug fixes, API integrations, dashboards, automations — anything that fits in roughly 4 hours of focused work. Bigger requests are broken into multiple tasks so you can review in between. We align on scope and your tech stack during onboarding.
What’s the difference between Care, Starter, and Growth?
Starter and Growth are for building new things — features, integrations, dashboards. Care keeps existing software healthy: bug fixes, security and dependency updates, and small changes, with priority on production issues. Care is available to existing Starter or Growth clients only — new clients start with Starter or Growth. Rule of thumb: if something new needs building, pick Starter or Growth; if something stopped working as it should, Care covers it. You can switch between plans each month — with no setup fee.
How quickly do you start on a task?
I pick up the first task in your queue within one business day. Turnaround is 1–3 business days on Growth and 2–4 business days on Starter, depending on complexity. On Growth I stand behind that with the Delivery Guarantee. Tasks larger than 4 hours are split up beforehand.
How does the Delivery Guarantee work?
The Delivery Guarantee applies to the Growth plan. A task is at most 4 hours of work and fully briefed: all information, access and materials are in place. Once I take the task on, the delivery is up for review on your ClickUp board within 3 business days. If that doesn’t happen, I work the following week for free: one week (a quarter of the monthly fee) is credited against your next invoice. If I’m waiting on information from you, the clock pauses. The guarantee applies at most once per calendar month; report a late delivery in writing within 7 days (email is fine).
How does the First-Month Guarantee work?
If you’re not convinced after your first month, you get your full monthly fee back. Cancel the subscription before the end of that month (it’s cancellable monthly) and send your request in writing within 7 days after the month ends; email is fine. The guarantee applies once per client. On a refund, Datapad does not transfer the code delivered that month and you stop using it — just like with the pay-only-if-satisfied guarantee on website projects.
What are unlimited revisions?
Revisions within the original task description are unlimited: always included — until you’re happy. Changes that extend the scope (adding new functionality) count as a new task in the queue.
What if I need less in a given month?
You have two options. Done building for now but still want maintenance and support? Switch to the Care plan (€1,500/month) — you keep your dedicated point of contact and the knowledge of your codebase stays warm, so you can scale back up to Starter or Growth later with no setup fee. Want to stop entirely? You can cancel any time, monthly. Note: after a full cancellation, restarting later carries a one-time €500 re-onboarding fee and depends on capacity. If full, you join the waitlist.
Who owns the code?
You do. Once the monthly invoice is paid, all intellectual property transfers to you. This is written into the terms. You have full access to every repository.
How does billing work?
Monthly, invoiced in advance, payable within 14 days by bank transfer. For your first month the First-Month Guarantee applies: if you’re not convinced, you get your full monthly fee back.
Do you work with my existing tech stack?
I work with modern web technologies: React, Next.js, Node.js, TypeScript, C#, Umbraco CMS, REST and GraphQL APIs. During intake we discuss your stack and confirm it’s a good fit.
I’m not in the Netherlands — can you still work with me?
Yes. The model is async-first, so timezone overlap of a few hours is plenty. Most communication happens through the shared board. I invoice in EUR.
